"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members"

Coretta Scott King

Many Hands Make Light Work

As soon as you turn into the Walnut Knolls, you know you've discovered something special. Its character and culture are a gift passed down by generations of residents who have volunteered their time to maintain and nurture our unique neighborhood.

As a community-managed and maintained village, we rely on our residents to support the efforts necessary to upkeep our infrastructure, host events, and ensure our safety.

Members who volunteer at least 4 hours to WKA volunteer initiatives in a calendar year are eligible for a Volunteer Rebate on their membership fees.

Ways to Help

Clean-up Party

WKA hosts Clean-up Parties at the beginning and end of the summer season. Volunteers help with maintenance tasks to prepare our facilities for summer activities and to winterize our space so that our properties endure the wear and tear of the off-season.

Special Projects

As WKA approves projects to maintain and improve our community, we need volunteers to execute the work. The WKA board will review these opportunities in general meetings and post the opportunities on this page (see below)

Event Hosts

Events require volunteers to set up, facilitate, and tear down. Donate your time to help make these special events possible. Opportunities are posted below.

Neighborhood Watch

To help coordinate the safety & security of our neighborhood, each street has a volunteer captain to organize residents and to relay communications between the captains and the WKA board.

Recurring Chores

Some facilities require volunteers to help with recurring chores, like maintaining inventory of common supplies, taking out the trash.

Other

Have we missed something? If you have an idea, please submit your volunteer suggestion to the board.
